Sakae Sushi

Conveyer belts flowing with modestly priced sushi make up the heart of this small new midtown restaurant. While the theme might excite the palate, the décor is reminiscent of the luggage terminal in JFK. Patrons of the nearby Yama claim the average sushi comes dished out in creative combos but lacks any culinary skill and is only on par with the local delis and cafeterias.

Sitting in a dining booth, watching the pink, yellow, red and blue plates, with dried up sauces atop low grade fish and stale rice, pass by while clicking away at a computer terminal with a mouse makes one realize that sushi has truly become a fast food at some restaurants. This is one of them.
